Dear friends
This year, the Centre for Foreign Languages marks half a century
of continuous success in the teaching of foreign languages.
The rich history of the CFL can be seen in the large number of employees who
have over the years made the CFL a part of their lives. Their diligence and
knowledge has contributed to the creation of the recognisable quality of this
school which to this day continues to offer language courses.
The admirable statistic of 1 50, 000 persons who have attended this school
speaks for itself. A wide variety of foreign language courses are continually
being developed according to the current trends and demands of the society we
are now living in.
Hence, confronted by today's needs, we have recognised the unquestionable
importance of knowing a foreign language.
There is an old Croatian saying which claims that' the more languages you speak,
the worthier you are as a person'. This is because knowledge of a foreign
language enriches every individual and it is a prerequisite for personal and
career success.
Without knowledge of a foreign language, it is impossible to be part of the
exchange of knowledge and ideas in the era of great challenges and changes which
globalisation brings.
Therefore, the CFL will continue to develop language teaching of the highest
quality, which fjrstly includes its expert and motivated teachers. By attending
professional development with in Croatia and abroad, they offer superior and
modern programmes accompanied by contemporary technology whereby client
satisfaction is a priority and fluent, confjdent language acquisition is
achieved. The CFL, as the leading language centre in the region, is able to
achieve these goals.
Over the last 50 years, the CFL has made a visible contribution to the
development of the town of Split in the areas of tourism and business through
the education of the citizens of Split.
This text attempts to illustrate the story of a school which, ever since its
foundation has communicated with its clients in foreign languages. Situated in
the enchanting location of the Split Prokurative, it greets and invites all
those who wish to become a part of this story to join us.
